Autumn Getaway

If you have thoughts in mind of an Autumn getaway, maybe to re-charge after looking after children during the summer or maybe for a little break in the last of the warm sunshine (sorry, I cant guarantee that!) before the onset of Winter then  look no further than my home county - beautiful Norfolk.

Norfolk is en route to nowhere and so remains one of the most laid back counties in the UK with a slow pace of life and enchanting scenery.  There's lots to do on your outings from walking along wide unspoilt  golden beaches, visiting  historic houses or fascinating ruins, exploring picturesque villages with cottages built of flints or carrstone (which gives that gingerbread house look), sampling local produce at farmers markets or shopping at indie shops in small market towns.  There are glorious gardens and tranquil waterways waiting here for you too.

Hire a canoe at Coltishall to enjoy a lazy morning on the river seeing the Autumn colours reflected on the calm water, visit Castle Rising for the interesting priory ruins and learn what it was like to live there, try Thornham for a coastal stroll and if you're very lucky you might see a deer emerging from the sea after a bit of a swim around the coast, check the opening hours but The Old Vicarage Gardens are open until the end of October ( no dogs) and can be combined with a stroll around one of Norfolk's huge churches built on the wealth of the woollen trade at Worstead.

There's lots of great places to eat out and to stay and dont forget that if you choose to stay within a reasonable distance of Holt I am very happy to bring you a selection of nightwear of your choice to buy either as Christmas gifts or as a treat for you which you can see or try on in the privacy of your accommodation. Just drop me an email at [email protected] to arrange.

Whatever you choose to do - enjoy the coming Autumn!
